Today we had students from Drexel University, PA.
Yoshi and Aummy gave them a seminar about our company and Organic cotton products.

Visitors from Kyoto, Kojima family 京都、小嶋織物ファミリーに訪問いただけました。

Kojima-Orimoto in Kyoto, founded in 1932 (the year after the Empire State Building was built) has been producing high end fusuma paper, wall paper and textiles for walls. Their owner's family Reiko, Erika and Sayuri Kojima, three sisters came to visit our office on May 2nd. We have been working with team Kojima for over 20 years through Erimo. 

京都木津川の小嶋織物（創業昭和７年）の小嶋一社長の素晴らしいご家族、Reiko-san, Erika-san and Sayuri-sanに来社いただけました。ふすま、壁紙、織物製造を８２年続けておられる素晴らしい会社です。小嶋社長は残念ながら今回はお越しいただけませんでしたが、近い将来、ニューヨークに来ていただけるを願っております。

大変、有意義な時間を創出いただけました。有難うございました。

History of Katsu New York 1983 繊維業界入り初年度

     

In 1983, Jhane Barnes visited Sanwa Textiles in Aichi, Japan first time as 10th mill's visit in Japan. It was through, Mr. Matsumoto, Sumitomo and Mr. Inukai, Alpha Co., Ltd.
The merchandiser, Andrew Maag (currently the president of Burberry Group) came to visit to Sanwa Textiles, 3 times a year for product development.

Jhane and Andrew spent almost 18 hours a day at the design studio while their stay in Japan.

All designing, costing and sometimes booking sample and bulk were done in that studio.

1983年、愛知県一宮市で父親の経営する、（株）サンワテキスタイルに入社させていただき、生産現場の糸運びから、織物設計までを徹底的に学ばさせていただくと同時に、その年からスタートした新チーム、輸出部のアシスタント役もさせていただくようになりました。大阪の住友商事、松本様が、一宮の産地問屋、アルファー社の、犬飼宏社長とともに、当時、米国のメンズ業界での最高の賞、カティーサーク賞、コティー賞をそれぞれ２回ずつ受賞されていたJhane Barnes社の社長、そしてスタッフ４人とともに、初めてサンワテキスタイルを尋ねてくださいました。
その時にJhane Barnes社長と一緒に来られた、マーチャンダイザーであられたAndrew Maag氏には、メンズファッションの業界の仕組みを細かく教えていただけました。

Andrewは、2014現在では英国バーバリー社の社長にまでなられております。

Mr. Koji Kawada, the president of Seiren USA and his family 米国セーレン川田社長とファミリー

Mr. Koji Kawada, his wife Noriko, his daughters, Ayaka, Nami and Mana visited our office on 4/25 from North Carolina. They have been very close to our team since 1998, before they got married. It was very nice to have them here in New York again.

104th Katsu New York Monthly Seminar "PROFIT" 第１０４回月例社内フィロソフィー勉強会

Katsu New York has been having monthly company philosophy seminar since August 2005. We have never missed even one based on 100% attendance of full time staff.

This 104th one was facilitated by Yoshi and Hikari about "PROFIT". It was well prepared and managed to understand why we need profit. One of the best seminar ever. Thank you.

Katsu New Yorkは２００５年８月より、毎月一度の例外もなく正社員全員参加ベースで、パート、そしてインターンの方々にも参加いただき、KNY フィロソフィー勉強会を、コンパもパッケージで行なって参りました。

今回は、第１０４回目、Yoshi and Hikariの担当責任者として、「PROFITの真意、目的」、「なぜPROFITが必要なのか」に対し理解を深め、あらためて当社の経営理念の追求の需要性を学ばせていただきました。

過去８年と９ヶ月、１０４回の中でも最高のレベルの社内セミナーになりました。

その際のHIKARIがYOSHIと準備をしたセミナー資料を添付いたします。

基本的にオブザーバー大歓迎ですので、社外の方でも参加を希望される方は遠慮なく仰ってください。なお、当然ながら、勉強会は１００％英語ですのでご了承ください。

Creative Design Director, Ms. Dorothy Cosonas and designer, Ms. Nikki Rubalcaba visited our office. Katsu New York has been supplying contract textiles for last 26 years. They are the longest lasting customer of ours.  Very thankful, we still have business today.

エリモ工業に５０年間以上務められた、高見会長が５月に引退をされることになりました。Katsu New Yorkとしても、２５年間、お世話になりっぱなしでした。

世界を相手に、企画開発のトップとして貢献されてこられました。

４月１０日、京都加茂のエリモ工業本社に、高見会長を、御礼、ご挨拶に訪問させていただきました。長い間、本当に有難うございました。

We celebrated Mr. Joe Gordon's 71st birthday with his family at club 75 on 3/19.

Mr. Gordon is the legend of men' s apparel and the president of Marcraft Apparel Group.

We are honored to have him and his family on his birthday.

International Interns at Katsu NY 国際インターン制度

We have very talented interns from all over the world, such as India, Russia, Korea, France, Spain, Vietnam, China and Japan.

世界中から優秀なインターンの方々が集ってくれてます。ニューヨークでの切ったはったの現実の世界での学びは貴重な経験となればと思い、Katsu New Yorkとしても積極的に「志が高い人」ということを条件に、３ヶ月から２年間のインターン制度を設けております。特に国連の如く、国籍の違う人たちの仕事は我々も毎日、数多くの事を学ばさせていただいております。

Last month Mr.Varona, Mr.Romualdez and Ms.Arcega from stopped by from The Japan Times. They are here in US to interview  executives from 150 companies to make an articles for the 160th anniversary of friendship between Japan and US.

We are honor to be the first one to be interviewed among them. We are so proud of our President, Katsu.
