Today was the last day of our 18th Nagatsu Camp.
Each of us had individual workshops with Mr. Nagatsu this week.
Today's theme is "Your Milestone for Future".
When we become 30, 40 and 50 years old, where we are and what we will be doing and how we are feeling at that point.
Also what we think we should do next five years in order to achieve what we want based on 12 management principles.
It was interesting everybody showed their character and uniqueness through their presentations.
Everyone has passion for their own dreams.
At the lunch time with Thai food, we talked about what we learned during the seminar.
Katsu said " Katsu New York should be the place for Hopes and younger generation to find the way to their future goal. "
We would like to encourage young people to become respectable person who can be considerate about other's benefit. That is also our mission.
Mr. Nagatsu also expressed he was moved because everyone has been growing in the last few months.
We will keep growing together.
Thank you very much Mr. Nagatsu.

8/11-12/2015 HARADA FAMILY FROM HARADA VECHLE DESIGN (AICHI, JAPAN)
Hisamitsu and Yuko Harada, the founder of Harada Vehicle Design and his children Akane and Togo visited our office and my home in New York.
Mr. Harada gave Harada family and KNY family members great seminar about his management, work and philosophy toward life.
His and his wife’s continuous challenging spirit really touched our heart.
Some say, “We don’t know, because we have never tried”, some other say, “We will know once we try”
These differences toward the judgement at turning points really make significant changes in results.
They gave us encouragement to be challengers, not observers.
We also enjoyed the reaction of their son and daughter after his speech at seminar.
They really didn’t know how hard the parents worked and how they raised them.
Also, Yuko’s continuous supports in the company and home created chances for Hisamitsu to keep challenging.
Special thanks to Mr. Nagatsu who introduced wonderful Harada family to us.

The 120th seminor

Today we had our 120th seminar, its a huge milestone since we started company seminars 10 years ago.
Since it was an important anniversary, the theme was "How do I become a No.1 supplier to my customers?"
Every employee gave a passionate presentation, using 12 key management principles by Dr. Inamori.
Katsu also gave a presentation about his life and our company history.
In 27 years, there were times of lows and highs, but we grew up thanks to everyone we met.
After the lunch, Hiyashi-chuka (Japanese cold ramen), we reflected on the seminar.
Now we have various employees, who are from Thailand, Ecuador, Hong Kong, the U.S. and Japan.
We have different cultures but we agree on what is right as human beings because of the philosophy we have been learning.
After, we went to Fat Cat in the West Village to express appreciation for HOPES (Interns). We enjoyed playing pool and ping pong.
Having fun and working hard. That's our trick for energy.

Arisa's presentation

Arisa Watanabe form Wtanabe-Pile gave us a presentation about their mills products.
Watanabe-Pile is a towel company in Imabari, Ehime prefecture.
Arisa is Fumi's sister and she will be staying in New York for 2 weeks and getting a boot camp version of Katsu New York Academy.
Imabari is famous for high quality towels and Watanabe Pile, produces not only towels and but also garment textiles.
They use organic cotton and natural dye, which give the products a softer hand feel and beautiful colors.
We inspired by their effort to challenge new markets.
Thank you so much, Arisa and Fumi!

Happy Birthday America! We celebrated the 4th of July with our family and closet friends at club 75 today. It was the best firework we ever watched. Thank you for our family and friends who joined us on this special day. Big appreciation to all.

Nagatsu Camp/ The Final Day

Team Katsu New York
In the final day of Nagatsu Camp, we traveled to Katsu’s house.
In the morning, the HOPES gave their presentations about themselves “Myself on July 31st”.
This project was to help them find out what ideals they want to achieve in the near future.
Next, we watched "The True Cost”. This movie is about the environmental impact fast fashion has on our planet and mankind. We realize again how important our companies focus on eco-friendly products and how we can be apart of the solution in our industry.
To end our 17th camp, Katsu and Yoshi cooked a great feast for us and we shared our final thoughts in discussion.
We have grown since we started this camp, and as always we credit that to, Mr Nagatsu.
Thank you for your help and kindness.

Mr. Nagatsu

Mr. Nagatsu is from Fukuoka, Japan. Currently, he is an accountant and also a managing consultant for 15 companies. During a Seiwajuku council meeting, he gave a presentation titled " Beautiful Fiscal Statement", which made him famous. His principle is that if a leader has a beautiful mind and is a nice person, the company's fiscal number must be beautiful. Katsu New York is the only company Mr. Nagatsu consults abroad. He comes to our office once every three months and we learn philosophy (Ethical criteria) for management. Thanks to him, we are changing for the better, and we will achieve 10% ordinary profit ratio in 2016.

KNY Alumni Night
Katsu Academy Alumni Night
May 6, 2015
We invited our alumni from Katsu Academy on May 6 and spent a wonderful night!
Well, we have decided to have the night just a week before and could not contact many alumni,
however we got more than 15 alumni and our current staffs.
Some people were interned with us over 20 years ago. Also, we have received video messages and e-mails from alumni who could not attend the night form all over the world.
We will plan to have another one shortly. Stay tune!
Katsu New York
